Thank you to everyone who attended the second Fretboard Summit. What an amazing weekend! Follow the Fretboard Journal on Facebook to see photos, videos and highlights.
All of us at the Fretboard Journal love guitars (of course), but guitar shows always left us wanting a little more. With that in mind, we decided to start our own, annual gathering we call the Fretboard Summit. The Fretboard Summit is a three-day conference and retreat where the pages of our magazine come to life: You can meet some of the world's greatest large and small scale guitarmakers (2015's event included talks from Bill Collings, Richard Hoover, Dana Bourgeois, Paul Reed Smith, Rick Turner and Jeff Traugott); hear some of the most inspiring music being made today; get your hands on hundreds of vintage classics; and network with fellow music fanatics. Since the entire weekend is curated by the FJ, you'll be able to see and meet some many of our magazine's subjects, contributors and personalities.
This year, we'll be taking over the gorgeous Rancho Bernardo Inn resort in San Diego and filling it with interview stages, lesson rooms, interactive exhibits, concert stages, pop-up museums and jam spaces. Whether you come for the live music, the lectures or you just to meet your lutherie heroes, you'll have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our first event drew attendees from as far away as Europe and Australia. To make this as special an experience as possible, we're limiting admission to just a few hundred guitar fanatics (and your loved ones). Our goal isn’t to be the biggest guitar festival around but we’d sure like to be the most inspiring, informative and hands on.
